    Building Thoreau House, 2001-2003.
th3thorhut.jpg Thoreau House wrapped, Jan.'02 Thoreau House, not a replica, but a creative copy of Thoreau's cabin at Walden Pond, 1845. Thoreau House is exactly the same size as the original. Ten by fifteen feet with eight foot high walls plus a woodshed. To make room for a functional sleeping loft the ceiling in the Fourpeaks version is dropped to seven feet and two windows are added in the loft. The woodshed is made into a full kitchen with room, too, for a dining table and chairs. All modern balloon construction with fully insulated walls for year-round use. Particle board sheathing, plastic weather wrap, sheetrock walls, textured asphalt roofing, 3-inch fiberglass insulation, electrical and gas supply to code, electric lighting, gas fireplace. Creative use of salvaged antique window units and doors, rough pine for floors, interior/exterior trim, 4x4 ceiling beams and interior/exterior woodshed walls, cedar shakes.

Whether you're an experienced webmaster or just a novice surfer, you may have feedback or suggestions to help us improve. We well remember the visitor who complained about the unpleasant glare from the HTML default royal blue links. That lead us to entirely revamp our background and link colors, making them softer, more eye pleasing. And the Florida expert who warned us about frustrating visitors with blind links. We followed his advice and now carefully identify links so visitors know before they "click" exactly where they're clicking to. Your comments or suggestions will be equally appreciated.
