A total escape. Lots of hiking, reading, painting and relaxing. It was such a beautiful spot. We were content to just sit on the porch and observe all the beauty with the changing of the day. The starts were amazing as well. We look forward to seeing Fourpeaks in the Autumn and Winter. Patrick M***** *** West 77th Street #** New York NY patrickm***@***mag.com
Wintry New Years at Wolf's Nest. Adirondack Autumn at Sugar Camp. "This webpage finally got done." (An Email Exchange.) [Responding to inquiry about New Years at Wolf Dec 29, 1999.] Subject: Re: Availability Date: Tue, 05 Oct 1999 11:33:49 -0400 From: Martin Schwalbaum/Louise Merriam Organization: Fourpeaks--Adirondack Camps & Guest Hams To: "Hugh M. H***" Dear Hugh, [Thanks for your email inquiry.] Hugh--I don't have your name down in my file, but I think you were at New Camp with Patrick in May '98. If so, I owe you both an apology for never having posted the fine water- colors and photos. But I had no text to go with them. If the watercolors are yours email me a phone contact. I'd like some copy to go with--it would be nice to add to our pages. Jan '00 Martin And Louise, Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know what a wonderful time we had over New Year's. We spent a great deal of time reading and relaxing. In addition, you will see from the enclosed pix for your guest book, we did a lot of hiking. We didn't realize how high up we were until we got to the top of Wainwright Mountain and looked down at your house! We also spent a day climbing to the top of Ebenezzer. Even without all the plants in bloom we found a couple of things to paint. (I've enclosed copies of those as well) I even painted on some birch bark and was really pleased with the results, not that either of us are painters. We both wanted to thank you and Louise for the get together on New Year's Eve. (You have to send me the name of that Italian wine, It really was delicious.) It was a wonderful way to end the year. You were both such gracious hosts and we enjoyed chatting with Fred and Willow. In fact we are planning to have dinner with them here in New York soon. Thanks again for everything. Fourpeaks is truly a magical place. (Signed) Patrick and Hugh Postmarked New York Oct 15 '02 Martin- Hope this finds you well. Some pics for your website from our recent trip. Despite Hugh's accident we had a great time. The people at the Plattsburgh Hospital were great and Hugh is on the mend. Patrick
